Engineered Materials are the basis for enabling
technologies for the automotive market.
Components containing our products are found
in all aspects of vehicle operations - electronic
signaling and power, actuation switches,
relays and sensors, thermal management and
electrical isolation of critical ignition
components, crucial operation of safety
devices, etc. The safe and efficient operation
of your vehicle is paramount to us, and
Brush products provide the enabling technologies
to get you from here to there - safely,
comfortably and efficiently.
Copper
beryllium strip materials in components
can survive harsh automotive environments
caused by high temperatures (400 F near
the engine), vibration, and corrosive
materials (road salts, seaside atmospheres,
battery fluids) to provide failure-free
operation. Our unique copper beryllium
alloys also enable component designs to
become miniaturized without compromising
functional performance requirements.
Copper
beryllium alloys
sold in strip form are fabricated into
connector terminals used in automotive
wire harnesses and electrical spring components
to make switches and relays. The wire
harnesses become the circulatory system
within passenger cars and light duty trucks
transferring electrical power and information
signals between automotive sensors, modules,
and actuators.
Engineered
Material Systems
utilize copper alloys and copper beryllium
alloys in combination with precious and
non-precious metals and are fabricated
into connector terminals used in automotive
wire harnesses and sensors. Engineered
Material Systems provide design flexibility
which reduces overall material costs,
enhances metal formability, reduces product
assembly cost, and provides superior reliability,
stability, and electrical conductivity.
