Brush Wellman's Electrofusion Products unit enjoys a leadership role in manufacturing for the beryllium metal X-ray window and ultra-high vacuum markets which include original equipment markets for X-ray tube and X-ray detector manufacturers, products for high energy research facilities, and beryllium foil for other high-end applications. Electrofusion operates from a dedicated facility in Fremont, California.

Equipment and processes at Electrofusion include atmosphere furnace processing, brazing, cold rolling, machining, bonding, electron beam welding, hot forming, vacuum furnace processing, and water jet cutting.

Beyond X-ray and imaging applications, Electrofusion Products designs and builds products for high end acoustic applications and ultra-high vacuum engineered products for a wide range of commercial, research, and scientific projects. Electrofusion Products can provide the design, fabrication, and testing of high performance components and assemblies, which require vacuum tightness, high temper- ature bake outs, and/or highly accurate mechanical tolerances. Materials used for these products include copper, aluminum, titanium, stainless steel and beryllium.
